How much does it cost to host n8n? (VPS prices in USD)

VPS prices in US dollars for self-hosted n8n from Hostinger, DigitalOcean, Hetzner, Contabo and Vultr, with entry and renewal prices and the date of each check.

Short answer: n8n Community Edition is free to self-host, so you pay only for the server. Among the plans below, checked on October 15, 2026, the cheapest with at least 4 GB of RAM is Contabo Cloud VPS 4 at $5.28/month (for the first 24 months). If you want to pay by usage instead of committing to a long term, the cheapest 4 GB plan is Vultr Regular 4 GB / 2 vCPU at $20.00/month.

n8n’s own paid plans are on the official pricing page; the comparison with the hosted version is in n8n Cloud vs self-hosting. The table below lists VPS plans with their entry price and renewal price side by side.

Watch the renewal price. Hostinger lists KVM 2 at $8.99/month on the 24-month plan, but the same page says it renews at $14.99/month. Always compare both numbers.
  • Hostinger: the entry price is the monthly equivalent on the 24-month plan, paid upfront. The renewal price comes from the same page.
  • Contabo: the page states the price for the first 24 months and does not state a renewal price. Prices are for the European Union region; other regions cost extra.
  • DigitalOcean, Hetzner and Vultr bill by usage (DigitalOcean per second, the other two per hour) and show a monthly price next to the hourly rate. Hetzner prices exclude VAT and the IPv4 address.
  • Entry prices on different billing terms are not directly comparable: the 24-month plans are paid upfront.

How to read the table

  • Entry price is what the provider’s page shows today. Hostinger and Contabo quote a monthly equivalent on a 24-month term; Hostinger says all its plans are paid upfront.
  • DigitalOcean, Hetzner and Vultr show a monthly price next to an hourly rate (DigitalOcean bills per second), so you pay by usage rather than for a long term. They cost more per month than the long-term deals.
  • Taxes and extras are not included. Hetzner’s prices exclude VAT and the IPv4 address, and Contabo’s price is for its European Union region (other regions cost extra).
  • Specs are not identical. The disk type, CPU generation and network speed differ between providers, so check the plan page before you decide.

Which size should you pick?

The n8n documentation does not set a minimum amount of hardware. Memory use depends on data volume, binary files, the Code node and simultaneous executions (docs). And n8n Cloud?

If you would rather not run a server at all, n8n Cloud starts at $20.00/month billed annually ($24.00 billed monthly) for 2,500 executions a month, according to the n8n pricing page on October 15, 2026, as shown to visitors in the US (the page displays the visitor’s local currency). How much RAM does a VPS for n8n need?
